Winter Reign and I are now preparing for our 5th Retreat (we go to Joshua Tree, 20 - 23 Sept). I’ve learned, these long weekends provide me opportunity to step away from the routine of my life, to lay down the hats of my responsibilities (and my phone) and touch back to my ground.
It’s as if the retreat itself is a breath in my year. A deeper, more profoundly relaxing breath, and in the space of this breath, I am able to see more clearly what I’ve been carrying (the stresses and worries), to let some of that go and to open to new perspectives. The retreat seems to create space in my mind to prepare for what’s coming next, for new inspirations and goals.
It's powerfully nourishing, and I bring this energy back into my life, to my family and work.
